MzVee loses out; Black Coffee wins Best International Act, Africa

South African record producer and DJ, Black Coffee has been announced winner of the Best International Act, Africa category at the 2016 BET Awards » .
He beat competition from Yemi Alade, Wizkid, MzVee » , AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Diamond Platnumz and Serge Beynaud at an event held on Saturday at the Staples Centre in LA.
In 2015, Ghana’s Stonebwoy beat Ghanaian counterpart Sarkodie, AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria) to win the category.
The presentation was done ahead of the main event which will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, United States of America on Sunday, June 26.
The show which starts at 8 p.m. EDT will air around the world on BET’s international network.
